The HotPaw Sing-inTuna application offers a visual tool for assessing pitch accuracy, suitable for vocalists and instrumentalists seeking precise tuning. Utilizing the built-in microphone on your iPhone or iPad, the app analyzes and displays pitch data in real time through a scrolling graph that resembles a traditional musical Grand Staff.

Pitch accuracy is color-coded for ease of interpretation: green indicates notes within +\-20 cents of perfect pitch, red signifies slightly sharp notes, and blue denotes slightly flat notes. An optional frequency spectrum display provides additional insight into voice timbre, enhancing the user’s understanding of tonal qualities.

The application requires a quiet environment devoid of accompaniment or harmony, with monophonic pitches sustained for at least 250 milliseconds. The effective pitch range with the built-in microphone spans approximately two octaves centered around middle C, contingent upon microphone quality, loudness, and timbral characteristics.

It is important to note that Sing-inTuna does not produce sound or sheet music; its purpose is solely to visualize pitch accuracy and compare it with standard tuning conventions, supporting users in developing better intonation skills.
